My first eBay auction

Yeah it's a lame item and a poor photo but I'm just getting my feet wet in e-commerce. If this works out I have tons of old stuff to sell. I've casually thought about the idea many times but this time I'm serious. I have to start making money off the internet like everybody else.

miso soup

Tonight I made miso soup, from a packet rather than scratch, but I added a few leaves of organic baby spinach. Probably not enough to count as a serving, but it was very good anyway. I ate it before I thought about taking pictures, but it's just soup so it's not important. I also bought some other veggies to try out in different recipes, so I'll probably have more to say in a few days.

Incidentally, the hard plastic package that the spinach came in was made from corn, instead of oil byproducts. This is exactly what we need to be doing right now as a country.

Curry!

Tempeh, peppers, and carrots

Sweet potato or yam?

How can you tell?

Test

Test

OK another hiccup, and the reason I got so mad the first time I tried this. I posted a test text from my phone, and it posted fine. I then tried to post a pic and my phone gave me an "invalid address" error. After a call to Verizon support a very helpful operator told me he had to change a setting on my phone and directed me to do the over the air reprogramming thing. I was then able to send a pic from my phone, but it never showed up on my blog, and again it gave me a claim token, essentially starting the whole process over again. I had flashbacks to trying to do this last year but I kept at it. I went back through the whole process and it is now working. I'm not sure if reprogramming my phone was causing the problem or what. I assume it screwed up Blogger's "caller id" or something, because it was treating my txt as if it were from a new user. Anyway, enough housekeeping, let's start mobile blogging!!!

My cat sqeaky. This is an old pic so it's not exactly a good example of cutting edge mobile blogging.

Moblogging!!!

OK so a long time ago I wrote about mobile blogging, or moblogging as it's called. I was all excited about being able to post blogs from my cellphone. Then I tried it and got blogged down in the details, and finally gave up in disgust after I thought that each time you send something from your phone you have to log onto the blogger website and enter a code to claim it and link it to your blog. As it turns out, I skipped a step somehow. How it's supposed to work is the FIRST TIME you do that, you have to log on and claim it (thereby linking your phone # with your blog) and then all subsequent pxt/txt that is sent from your phone automatically goes to your blog. That step was never explained originally, and I think they updated the process to automatically give you that ability later. Or it could be that I was doing it from a library computer, so it somehow it blocked that secure portion of the website. Long story short, it's now working fine.

Which means I can now link my love of outdoor adventure with the love of blogging.

Out with the old

I've been neglecting this blog for a while because I had nothing to say. Well I'm back. I broke up with one girl, got back with another girl, then broke up again (technically we didn't so much break up as she once again is moving away). As of this week I'm single once again. The good news is it looks like I'll be getting full time custody of my cat, which is pretty exciting. I'm concerned about how well she'll get along with the dog and 2 cats that are here, since they are pretty docile and Squeaky likes to play pretty rough with other cats. Plus she hasn't really been an indoor cat in a while. Nor has she been around many other people.

I'm hoping to do more pictures and videos, but we'll see how long that lasts.
